Little Big Green Planets

Little Big Green Planets, inserito originariamente da Hawkea.

so generous of you to buy an emerald jewel
a bracelet of loveliness that's really cool
putting it on as it glistens in the sun
fit for a queen and so well done

poem by Iris (eyewrisz)

Early morning dew drops on a blade of grass taken reversing a EF 50mm 1.8 II on a EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS at 49mm reaching real 1:1 macro. Focusing is a real PIA with this setup but sometimes worth it.....And of course loads of vignetting!

Messy face

Messy face, inserito originariamente da Hawkea.

Iris (eyewrisz) wrote this little poem for it:

"so much pollen all over his face
looks like a buzzing bee disgrace
should have some nectar to wash it down
but seeing how he is he might defintely drown"

I think it describes the shot far better than any of my own words!
Thank you Iris!!

Roxy and Luna

Roxy and Luna, inserito originariamente da Hawkea.

Luna and her best friend Roxy (well, best friend if we dont include Buzz, Woody and Jesse...) having fun at the beach last year.
Outside as I "speak" it is snowing and saturday should be worse....

Indomitable Iris (eyewrisz) , whose stream I invite you to check out, says:

best friends at the beach what could be better
warm enough not to wear a sweater
Luna playing with her dog named Roxy
i can see from this picture they both have moxie

Feeling blue

Feeling blue, inserito originariamente da Hawkea.

I really need to upload this shot...
The weather today in fact is cold, windy, rainy and foggy a rare combination of events for our usually "Sunny Sicily". Weather forecasts actually show that in a couple of days should snow quite a bit....
Only two days ago instead was like in this capture! Go figure.....

Through my friend Iris (eyewrisz) words:

if this is feeling blue
i want to feel it too
color is astounding on petal ribbons all curled
a welcome sight in this complicated world

Iris, the day that you'll get bored and won't write these little gems for my shots anymore, I think I'll stop posting.....You are way too good with me!

Almond in bloom

Almond in bloom, inserito originariamente da Hawkea.

I dedicate this capture to my 10 years old daughter Anthi. Her greek name means a flower that is in bloom...secretly hoping that she won't ever really fully bloom... :)
I love you sweety!!

my dear friend eyewrisz (Iris), whose stream I strongly advise you to check out,
has written this little poem for this shot and I love it!!!

"unlike a flower which blooms and does fade
your daughter's love will always pervade
she stole your heart and captured your soul
you must stay grounded and not lose control
"

Spring's coming

Spring's coming, inserito originariamente da Hawkea.

but in the meantime it is still raining.

"spring is in the air and rain's coming down
the water droplets seen could be jewels on a crown
it's an sxciting time for all us to see
the awakening of Mother Nature's beauty!

as usual the little poem is courtesy of eyewrisz (Iris), whose stream I strongly advise you to check out. She's a talented artist with a cunning sense of humour and a great writer too.

Happy Sunday everyone!

My love (ouch....someone didnt like it!!!)

I guess no-one is going to write poems about this :D

This is my Rx-8 (well a part of it at least) and I love it. Wait a minute....did I mention that I love it?
Have a nice weekend my friends. I feel much better now and it's also thanx to you!!

EDIT
Iris (eyewrisz) proved me wrong (a constant in my life with women.....) and here its her poem:

"always taught not to love objects or things
i can imagine what thrill this vehicle brings
zooming around in this red flashy car
your male ego seems to take you quite far"

Bee in Love

Bee in Love, inserito originariamente da Hawkea.

Apparently even bees feel that Valentines day is approaching.

Today it was a wonderful day and I managed to take some decent shots of this bee that was clearly enjoying the early spring.
When I checked the shot in camera I couldnt believe my eyes!!

Have a wonderful Valentine's day my friends!!!!

California dreaming......

California dreaming......, inserito originariamente da Hawkea.

This girl was on the beach watching her fellow kite surfers having fun but never tried, in the couple of hours that I was there, to join them. She seemed troubled about something.....

"people have a right to think
being in public they do not drink
they keep their thoughts tucked inside
and hope that good will finally preside"
by eyewrisz

Iris, you're really spoiling me now :)

A fisherman's tale

A fisherman's tale, inserito originariamente da Hawkea.

This time there are two lovely poems written by dear friends here in Flickr to accompany this shot.

The first in italian by Eagle eye79:

Navigare

Finché percepisco il tocco leggero del tuo pensiero,
sorvolo il mondo alla ricerca di te
e, instancabile, navigo le acque turbolente del mio animo,
con il costante timore di affondare,
in attesa che tu mi venga a salvare

And the second in english again by eyewrisz:

the lonely fisherman in the sea
evokes a lot of thoughts to me
getting up early to catch the fish
that will be prepared as a luscious dish

What can I say apart from thank you and that I am so very honoured!!!!
If you go on like this I wont have to bother writing descriptions anymore :)

Sulking Tit

Sulking Tit, inserito originariamente da Hawkea.

"this sulking tit
is a glorious hit
colors that glow
as he puts on a show"
by eyewrisz
thank you Iris, you're lovely!!

I know....nothing to scream about quality-resolution or even exposure wise (btw this is at least a 50% crop), but I love this shot that I took from my kitchen window. We have the only garden in our area with lots of trees, a couple of ponds and bird baths, and birds appreciate it a lot especially during the hot summer months here in sicily.
Have a good night if you're in my time zone!
And a happy week-end!
